Chloe

Q: What’s the movie about?

A: When a woman (Julianne Moore) finds out her husband (Liam Neeson) is cheating, she hires an escort (Amanda Seyfried) to hit on him and see how he responds.

Q: Who’s in the movie?

A: Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Max Thieriot, Nina Dobrev, R.H. Thompson

Q: Is this movie worth the price of admission?

A: PhotobucketGo! It's in the same genre as Fatal Attraction, but with a twist... and some hot girl on girl action.

Q: Will this movie make me laugh?

A: I'm not sure if that was on the top of its list of things to do.

Q: Will this movie make me cry?

A: Not cry, but definitely squirm.

Q: Will this movie be up for any awards?

A: Men like to say that women are crazy, but I find that when women act crazy in relationships, a lot of the time it is their men's behavior that is driving them to it. This movie has my vote for the Best Depiction of How Men Make Women Lose their Minds Award.

Q: How is the Acting?

A: Amanda Seyfried has the most incredible eyes. All she has to do is tilt her head down and look up, and you will believe anything she says.

Q: How is the Directing?

A: Most of the time you don't notice it, and then there's the part where Atom Egoyan slowly pans Julianne Moore's naked body while she's in the shower, and then, in case you missed it on the first pass, comes back to a shot of her breasts and her long pointy nipples, and just rests his camera there for a good 10 seconds for absolutely no reason... like a baby grabbing for his mother's teat when he's no longer in the mood for milk.

Q: How is the story/script?

A: Erotically thrilling.

Q: Where can I see the trailer?

A: http://www.moviefone.com/movie/chloe/1430056/trailers

You probably should not have given away its like Fatal Attraction. It spoils things.

Have you seen Chloe? I hope I haven't spoiled things, but if you've seen Chloe I would love to hear how comparing it to Fatal Attraction is a spoiler?

I'm thinking of Fatal Attraction as a "genre." I can change the wording to reflect that, if you think it will help.

I haven't seen it yet but using Fatal Attraction implies that Chloe goes crazy or killer on one or both of the leads.

I was thinking of the Fatal Attraction reference as a way of saying, "An affair gone awry." I didn't mean to imply anything else. It's pretty different from Fatal Attraction, so I wouldn't let that scare you off.

I would be interested to hear what you think once you've seen it. And also, if you still think that's a spoiler. I'm not sure that it is. I was trying to make a thematic and tonal analogy, not a reference to the plot. The plot is significantly different.

Chloe opens here this weekend!!! As soon as I saw the three principals, my ticket was bought.

Sounds like Egoyan has more than a professional interest in Julianne Moore. I'll be sure to pay close attention to that scene to see what he was attempting to do. :-)

I look forward to your interpretation of the long nipple shot scene's purpose, Reel Whore

Finally saw it. It's good.

Loved the twist.

Why was she wearing Chloe's hair pin at the end of the film?

BTW, you did give something away by mentioning Fatal Attraction. I saw Chloe's reaction coming.

I also saw Chloe's reaction coming, and I didn't have any knowledge that it would be like Fatal Attraction. I think it's the score that gives it away more than my mention. Although, I imagine my mention didn't help. But I'm pretty sure you would've seen that coming anyway. I thought it was kind of spoon fed.

As far as the hair clip goes, I'm not sure why she wore it. But I think it was to say that there was some kind of real love underneath it all. Or maybe to remind herself that she had an edge, or that her husband was a good guy? It seemed like they wanted you to get some symbolism out of it. But I suppose you can decide for yourself what that symbolism should represent. What did you think it represented?

Hey! I saw Chloe a few weeks back and posted my review. I had almost forgotten to come back for my nipple dissertation.

I believe Egoyan was trying to parallel the excitement of Catherine with that of her husband as he was serviced by Chloe. He alludes to Catherine giving her lady garden a thorough washing with shower massager, but since he can't show that, he instead focuses on her erect nipples to show her excitement. She eventually reaches out to the glass shower door which places the hand in the center of his titillating shot.

I really loved the way Egoyan utilized mirrors, windows and glass in the storytelling. It really helped show the evolution of Catherine's emotional turmoil. Like the nipple scene, We see that she still isn't ready to become a participant in her desires. The shower is the first time she opens herself up to it, but she continues to do so as a voyeur by imagining sexual congress. It isn't until later when we discover she's not as interested reconnecting with her husband as she is with another woman.

Anyway, enough of my hypothesizing over the finer points of Chloe and Julianne Moore's nipples.
